Trump Courses Become LIV Golf Centers

Since LIV Golf launched in 2022 with financial backing from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, several tournaments have been held at Trump-owned golf clubs, including venues in Florida, New Jersey, and Virginia. These events have generated significant revenue and publicity for Trump’s resorts at a time when some traditional golf organizations distanced themselves from his properties following the January 6 Capitol riot.

Trump has publicly embraced LIV Golf, praising the league and criticizing the PGA Tour for resisting the Saudi-backed venture. His courses quickly became some of LIV’s most high-profile venues, helping strengthen the business relationship between Trump Organization properties and Saudi-funded sports investments.

Supporters argue that hosting golf tournaments is simply part of Trump’s private business operations. However, ethics experts contend that the arrangement raises concerns because Trump remains politically influential and could potentially return to public office.
