Does it really reveal your personality?
Despite the viral claim, there’s no scientific evidence that counting triangles can accurately reveal personality traits.
For example:
- If you count only obvious shapes, you may favor quick, intuitive thinking
- If you search for every possible combination, you may lean toward analytical thinking
- If you feel frustrated by ambiguity, you may prefer structured, clear answers
But these are observations about thinking style—not personality diagnosis.
The psychology behind why we share it
- Challenge — We want to prove we can solve it
- Social comparison — We check our answer against others
- Self-reflection — We enjoy the idea that it says something about us
It’s the same appeal behind riddles, personality quizzes, and optical illusions that “expose your inner traits.”
