One of the most effective ways to remove mildew from shower silicone is to allow a bleach-based cleaner to remain in contact with the stained area long enough to break down the mold and mildew.

You’ll Need

• Household bleach (or a bleach-based mildew remover)
• Cotton balls or cotton pads
• Plastic wrap (optional)
• Rubber gloves
• An old toothbrush
• Warm water
• Clean microfiber cloth

Step 1: Ventilate the Bathroom

Open windows or turn on the exhaust fan before using any bleach-based cleaner. Good airflow helps reduce exposure to fumes.

Never mix bleach with ammonia, vinegar, or other household cleaners, as this can produce dangerous gases.

Step 2: Apply the Bleach

Soak cotton balls or cotton pads with bleach and press them directly onto the mildew-stained silicone.

For vertical surfaces, you can cover the cotton with plastic wrap to help keep it in place.
