For years,  was the airline passengers loved to hate — and often still booked because the fares were unbelievably cheap. Bright yellow planes, ultra-low ticket prices, and endless add-on fees became the company’s trademark. But after years of turbulence, mounting debt, failed mergers, and industry-wide pressure, the once-iconic budget carrier collapsed into bankruptcy and eventually ceased operations.
